I live in London, but I spent two years post-pandemic living in Cornwall about a fifteen-minute walk from Poldhu, where Marconi sent the first radio signal across the Atlantic to Newfoundland in 1901. The postcard below shows what the area was like when it was a bustling tech hub at the very beginning of intercontinental social media.
